The Majestic Sandhill Crane

I am a nature and wildlife photographer living in Utah. I have followed and photographed the beautiful Sandhill Crane from birth to mass-migration to nesting and death. Sandhill Cranes mate for life and live together for up to 20-years. Mated adults lay one or two eggs annually, raise and protect their young together and remain connected as a family unit for many years. Sandhill Cranes have migrated across the North American landscapes for more than 2.5 million years.

Sandhill Cranes are hunted for sport in all states except Nebraska. This site largely celebrates the "Cycles Of Life" of the majestic Sandhill Crane. I hope my images will inspire you to help protect this extraordinary animal.

Wildlife & Nature

I have spent countless cold mornings and late nights, throughout the western U.S., waiting for the appearance or approach of wild animals in their wild places. Instead of getting too close to these beautiful creatures, I depend upon very long lenses, fast cameras, and a good deal of luck. There is nothing quite as satisfying for a wildlife photographer than capturing the perfect image without harassing the subject. I hope you enjoy these images.
